Michigan legislators have introduced another bill aimed at modifying the state’s no-fault auto insurance system that they claim would “preserve the integrity” of that system while offering consumers greater choice.
The proposed legislation could potentially relieve coverage providers of the obligation to provide unlimited medical coverage by allowing motorists to choose from one of four levels of personal injury protection (PIP).
Currently, Michigan is the only state that requires insurers to cover up to a lifetime of medical and rehabilitative costs for vehicle accident victims who suffer catastrophic injuries.
Under the state’s system, which was implemented nearly four decades ago, policyholders statewide pay into a catastrophic claims fund that helps finance PIP claims greater than $500,000. That pa

As the warm weather approaches, so too does ther buying season innada. Usually beginning in March and ending sometime around when the kids go back to school, nadians appear to buy vehicles, newrs and usedrs, according to the temperature. After all, who wants to wander around a dealership lot browsing in minus 20°C weather? It is no surprise then, that thenadian auto insurance policy season closely mirrors ther buying season, according to auto insurance comparison service Kanetix. Of all thenadian auto insurance quotes obtained at Kanetix in 2010, 28 per cent were for policies that were to commence in the spring months (March, April or May) and 29.3 per cent in the summer (June, July or August).

Kentuckians got into more accidents in 2010 when compared with 2009, but the total economic damage caused by crashes in the state ended up falling, according to a new report from the Kentucky State Police.
The state saw 2,757 more accidents in 2010 compared with 2009an increase of nearly 2 percent.
At the same time, the total economic cost of accidents in the state dropped by about $68 millionor 3 percent.
The decline in costs despite the overall increase in crash volume can at least partly be explained by year-to-year adjustments made to the variables that are used to come up with those numbers.
But even if the same variables were carried over to the 2010 data, the overall costs still would have dropped.
Thats because another contributing factor to the cost-drop was the fact that property-damage only and possible injury crashes accounted for the majority of the increase in crash volumes.

Life insurance can provide your family with the financial means to keep going even after you are gone. Whether you are trying to make sure your children can still go to college or you just want your burial expenses covered, there is a life insurance plan that can meet those needs.
One thing you will have to decide when buying life insurance is whether you want term life insurance or whole life insurance.

I find it somewhat amusing and somewhat frustrating that insurers are still trying to solve their business problems with new technologies using antiquated methods. It is analogous to trying to use a 1950’s football strategy of just giving it to the running back and banging it up field. They seem to assume that because the players have newer uniforms and better equipment, the old playbook will still work. Other industries have realized that the “west coast offense” is much better, but insurance fails to recognize this. The West Coast offense was first used by the San Fransisco 49’s football team to utilize short passes to replace the running game to control the ball in the mid 1980s. It tota

The Florida Supreme Court has decided that, while a part of a State Farm auto insurance contract was complex, it was not ambiguous.
As a result, the states highest court has quashed a lower courts decision that sided with the policyholder, leaving State Farm free from having to cover two passengers bodily injury damages.
The case centered on a complicated issue of legalese in a car insurance contract.
Gilda Menendezs State Farm liability policy contained an exclusion saying that the coverage provider would not have to dole out compensation for crash-related bodily injuries of any insured or any member of an insureds family who resided in the same household.
At the time of the crash that sparked the case, Menendezs granddaughter, Fabiola Llanes, was driving the car with her parents and Menendez as passengers.
